The Virginia Highlands Airport administration is compiling an email contact list for anyone that wishes to be notified of events at the airport. This “email blast” would include such subjects as notice of meeting changes, additions or changes to any rules or regulations, NOTAMs affecting VJI, airport conditions, upcoming special events and hazardous weather notifications. We promise not to share your email address with anyone else and you may have your email removed from our list at any time. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has developed a draft of Recommended Security Guidelines for General Aviation Airports and Users – IP A-002 dated March 2013 This guidance document was developed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in cooperation with the General Aviation (GA) community. It is intended to provide GA airport owners, operators, and users with guidelines and recommendations that address general aviation security concepts, technology, and enhancements. The recommendations contained in this document have been developed in close coordination with a Working Group comprised of individuals representing the entire spectrum of the GA industry. This material should be considered a living document which is updated and modified as new security enhancements are developed and as input from the industry is received. To facilitate this, TSA has established a mailbox to collect feedback from interested parties. Persons wishing to provide input should send e-mail to TSAGeneralAviation@dhs.gov and insert “GA Airport Security” in the subject line.
